Pivot Point Calculator
Pivot points provide a means of determining directional changes in the markets. The ‘pivot point’ is a level in the market at which the direction of the market is determined. Essentially the pivot point acts as a fulcrum. If the market trades above the pivot point then it is seen as having bullish sentiment. Conversely if the market trades below the pivot point it is seen as having bearish sentiment.
Using the Pivot Point Calculator
To use our free pivot point calculator, simply input the high, low and closing prices for the selected time period and click 'calculate.'
As well as providing the actual pivot point, pivot calculations also generate immediate support and resistance levels in the market known as ‘pivot levels’.
These pivot levels are points at which the market may slow up or reverse. Three levels of resistance are calculated above the pivot point (R1,R2,R3) as well as three levels of support below the pivot point (S1,S2,S3)
